The Outaouais region is a southwestern tourist region of the Province of Quebec with parts of its territory located in the National Capital Region of Canada. The Outaouais can be subdivided into its 5 Regional County Municipalities (RCM): Gatineau (City), La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, Les Collines-de-l’Outaouais, Papineau, and Pontiac. Each of these RCMs offer a wide variety of outdoor activities, as well as amazing food and cultural experiences. Known mainly for its lakes and rivers, the Outaouais is a giant playground for outdoor enthusiasts, whether it be cycling, hiking, fishing, hunting, canoeing and kayaking, cross-country skiing, and many others, you will surely have a blast in this corner of Quebec. Gatineau
DiscoverLargest city in the region and only a 5 minute drive from the City of Ottawa, Gatineau is home to some of the finest restaurants, cultural activities, and amazing microbreweries. It is the hub of the region and is known for its amazing quality of life and proximity to nature.
La Vallée-de-la-gatineau
DiscoverWith cities and towns such as Manawaki, Gracefield, Blue Sea, Kazabazua, and Grand-Remous, this corner of the Outaouais is the most vast and most northern of the region. Enjoy vast lakes, awesome hiking trails, and breathtaking waterfalls in this beautiful region of the Outaouais.
Les Collines-de-l'outaouais
DiscoverProbably the most popular area to visit, with towns like Chelsea and La Pêche, and for good reason. With the Gatineau Park, some of the best activities such as Éco Odyssée and Caverne Laflèche, delicious restaurants, and a few spas, this corner of the Outaouais region is a must-visit. And, it’s only a short drive from Gatineau.
Pontiac
DiscoverLeast known out of the 5 RCMs of the Outaouais, the Pontiac region is super underrated. This amazing destination will allow you to get close to nature and discover Outaouais’s amazing food scene with its wineries, farmer’s markets and local restaurants. While you are here, why not get your adrenaline going with some ziplining or some rafting?
