La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau

Discover La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau

Situated north of the City of Gatineau, this region stretches from the Town of Low all the way to the Moncerf-Lytton. Following the Gatineau River with Highway 105, you will discover plenty of charming towns with tones of great little shops, restaurants, and activities to do. For outdoor enthusiast, especially hikers, there are plenty of high quality hiking trails with some of the highest summits in the entire Outaouais region. For great fishing, there probably isn’t a better place in the region with its vast lakes and reservoirs. For kayakers, Maniwaki and the surrounding area makes for a great playground thanks to its annual Upper Gatineau Whitewater Festival where you can enjoy the multiple rapids of the Gatineau River. If you are willing to go off the beaten path, you will discover breathtaking waterfalls, observation towers, as well as historical sites. Looking to go canoe camping? La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve is the world’s largest canoe camping reserve with over 800 km of circuits. Let the Upper Gatineau Valley be your outdoor playground.
