Gatineau

City of Gatineau

Fourth largest city in the entire Province of Quebec, Gatineau is part of National Capital Region of Canada and a neighboring city to the capital of Canada, Ottawa. With more than 3/4 of the entire population of the Outaouais region, Gatineau is the economic and cultural hub of the region. Home to some of the most important cultural institutions, such as the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau is a vibrant city and close to nature. Hosting a vast array of great festivals all year round, there is something for everyone. When here, why not try out some of the best restaurants in the region or one of Gatineau’s great microbreweries. The city itself is divided into 5 sectors (Aylmer, Hull, Gatineau, Mason-Angers, and Buckingham) which offer different activities and vibes. Gatineau makes for a great anchoring spot when visiting the Outaouais region because it is located at the crossroad of the four remaining counties. Gatineau can be reached via Highway 50 or 148 from Montreal, or by one of the five interprovincial bridges from Ottawa.
