Luckily, a new tour guide company is now offering residents and visitors of the National Capital Region of Canada the chance to visit some of the most amazing wineries and a family run cider mill with their Pontiac Wine & Cider Tour. This new wine and cider tour near Ottawa & Gatineau is sure to leave you with lasting fun memories!

Aventure Outaouais’ Wine & Cider Tour

Aventure Outaouais is a tour guide business which operates exclusively in the Outaouais region of Quebec. They offer all-inclusive guided tours of the region, including their Pontiac Wine & Cider Tour. The best part is they offer free transportation from Ottawa & Gatineau from select hotels, which means you don’t need to drive. In their comfortable 14 passenger minibus, you will be taken on a fun adventure through the Pontiac County of the Outaouais where you will visit 3 wineries and a cider mill. Starting as low as $115 (plus taxes) per person, this tour includes between 9 and 12 tastings of wine, some hard cider, delicious apple pie and many other apple treats, as well as a food paring, your guide for the day, and unlimited snacks in the minibus! Here is a little information about the 4 stops you will make during the 7-hour-long tour:

1st stop: Domaine de Pontiac Village

Located in the calming town of Quyon, this winery is also a vintage car museum. Here, you will enjoy some delicious white, red, and rosé wine while walking in the vineyard, appreciating their car collection, and learning about the process of wine making. The laid-back atmosphere creates a very welcoming environment that allows you to relax and decompress.

2nd Stop: Coronation Hall Cider Mill

Just up the road from the Domaine de Pontiac Village, this cider mill is home to the Coronation Hall, the only remaining traditional dance hall in the Ottawa Valley which dates back to the 1930’. There, you will be greeted by a lovely family and enjoy some amazing hard cider and some apple treats, including their homemade apple pie or apple crumble which is to die for. Walk around the production facility and learn all the old stories around the dance hall.

3rd Stop: Little Red Wagon Winery

Enjoy a delicious wine and food pairing at this family-run bistro in the charming town of Shawville. The local trout is amazing, and food goes so well with the red and white wine that is served there. The building itself is so beautiful and the artwork adds to the charm of this location.

4th Stop: Vignoble Les Collines

This last stop finishes the tour with a bang! Nestled on a hill side, the backdrop to this winery is the magnificent Gatineau Hills, otherwise known as the Eardley Escarpment.  Here, you will get the chance to taste many types of wine, including some whites, rosé, and a few reds. Tour the facility and walk in the vineyard and take in the incredible views. Also, you can appreciate some of the very old trees on their property.

This tour is offered every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until October 9th. It runs from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. It’s perfect for a group of friends, family, or just someone looking to live a unique and authentic experience. All the owners are very welcoming and friendly.
