Prunella A-Frame Chalet: Your Dream Accommodation in the Heart of Nature

Located in the small village of Ladysmith (Qc) at a 1-hour drive from Ottawa and Gatineau is your dream accommodation, the Prunella A-Frame Chalet. This newest edition to the amazing list of places to stay in the Pontiac County of the Outaouais combines charm, nature, and relaxation to offer its guests to perfect oasis to truly disconnect, decompress, and relax. Surrounded by 75 acres of forest and a beautiful lake, enjoy all that nature has offer all year round during your stay.

Design and functionality

With its unique A frame and large windows, the Prunella chalet lets in tons of natural light while providing its guests with views of the surrounding forest. You never know what you might see! Perhaps a few deer from your bedroom window in the morning as you lay in bed? The interior is minimalist while modern and comfortable. Radiant heated concrete floors keep your feet warm while the wood panel walls bring nature in. The wood stove will surely bring everyone together and create such warmth after a day enjoying the outdoors.

Beyond its shape and built, what makes a stay at the Prunella A-Frame chalet so unique is all the small special touches and the attention to detail. From your welcome box with local honey and a scented candle, to the décor, the owners put a lot of thought into this location. I personally appreciated the colors and patterns chosen which brought such calmness into the chalet.

The chalet is divided into 3 levels. The master bedroom is located on the ground level with a very comfortable queen bed. The bathroom is to die for with a walk-in shower with the amazing body products (I still remember the smells). The first floor has two single beds, great for children or just friends. Finally, the indoor hammock on the third level which becomes the most wonderful reading space.

Amenities and activities

First, I personally think the biggest reason why you would love to stay here is the cedar hot tub. I mean, is it not everyone’s dream to own a cedar hot tub and to watch the stars at night? There is even a fireplace next to the hot tub on the patio. During the warmer seasons, you can even enjoy a delicious barbeque.

During the summer, you can take full advantage of the lake with a beautiful dock and stand-up paddle boards which are included with your stay. If you wish to stay on dry land, explore one of the many hiking trails on the property. You can also discover some awesome activities in nearby towns like dog sledding in the winter or visiting a winery in Shawville.

Inside, enjoy a few board games, some music, a good reading session on the hammock, or project your favorite show or movie on their mini projector. The Prunella chalet comes with fantastic wifi thanks to Starlink.

All in all, I must say, this is truly one of my favorite accommodations ever. I feel like I could live here forever. The attention to details, the importance given to simple living and sustainability, and the amazing hot tub really do combine to create your dream accommodation in the heart of the Outaouais.
